Very slippery wooden stair case.

We have quite a steep 12 step wooden stair case with, I'd say, incorrectly dimensioned steps.

The surface is also quite slippery when wet.

I was hoping to source a product which comes in either a roll or in step sized sheets, and which adheres to a step surface to provide a non skid step.

Many thanks

In the Thabo area.

Anyone know where I could obtain this type of product?

A few years ago I bought rolls of a clear non slip tape that worked well on a tiled staircase. It should stick on wood.

I bought it from one of the big hardware stores.

Thanks F.

Will check out the hardware stores.

As Thabo is in the sticks I thought the hardware stores might not have extensive range.

And Tesco Lotus stocking such a product might be stretching the boundaries.

Stairs are deadly...."Google the stats on this." Have been looking for

"Non-Slip Stair Treads" for quite some time. Had bad crash from this

some weeks ago, very bad, but prior to this I was looking for this item.

eBay, Amazon etc. has many options but I can not find one in Thailand.

Any recommendations appreciated...

I was afraid that might be the case.

Thailand isn't big on safety.

Where have you looked?

Hi;

3M has a product which is what you're after; comes in a roll and you simply cut it (scissors) to the correct length, nicely shape

the ends (rounded) and stick it on your steps (it is self-adhesive).

I installed this on my patio-steps 5 years ago and it's still in A-1 condition and keeps on working.

IF you are unable to obtain this locally, simply PM me and I will send it to you, if you like.

Cheers,

I found this 3M product at my local HOME PRO store. And yes this is imported product and not cheap for 12 steps. But safety has a price .

You may try it on a few steps if you are not sure.

And for people with slippery bathtubs or shower, . 3M has a similar product to apply at the bottom

How dear is not cheap?

I bought 3M strips about 2 years ago and do not have the bill. I only had two ceramic tiled steps and I think it was 300B-400B per steps. But the stuff sell by meters in small boxes, so the cost will vary depending on the steps and how many strip you want on each steps. I used 2 strips per steps. Sorry I can not help more.
