PM denies formerly banned politicians will join new council
THE NATION

PRIME Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday rejected speculation that former executives of disbanded political parties would be appointed to a new body that would replace the National Reform Council (NRC).

He said he believes these politicians would prefer to make preparations to join the next government.

"I have not thought about this. There are many candidates already. Why should we bring these politicians back? I think they would rather prepare to join the next government," Prayut said.

It had been speculated that some of the 220 politicians, who have completed their five-year ban after their political parties were disbanded for electoral fraud, would be appointed to the soon-to-be set up Reform Movement Council.

The new council will replace the NRC, which will be dissolved after completing its job of voting on the draft constitution.

Bringing back the likes of Plodprasop, Chalerm and tubby twins Nutthawut and Jatuporn is great for comedic value, but so far as the sensible running of a nation, well time to think again. Had they all been executed for their crimes - as they should have all been - we wouldn't be having this ridiculous discussion anyway.

........"He said he believes these politicians would prefer to make preparations to join the next government."..........

Here we go again. Perfect candidates for the next bent and crooked version of the previous PTP party.

........."It had been speculated that some of the 220 politicians, who have completed their five-year ban after their political parties were disbanded for electoral fraud, would be appointed to the soon-to-be set up Reform Movement Council."............

They would be better suited for the next Shin party.

IOW, he has something in common with Yingluck, damned if he do and damned if he don't.

If they would have been executed USA would already drop weapons in the north for red "freedom fighters" like they do in Syria......

Nobody has the right to execute anybody. Not even you.

But in case you want to file a suit to those politicians, so there will be probably none left at the end...including the present so called government.

Why should we bring these politicians back?

Because ALL Thais should be treated equally and with dignity. Please refer to your Interim Charter, the 2007 Constitution that you abolished, and the NRC draft 2015 Constitution.

I do wonder if the bold Suthep's announcement about leaving the monastery and stating there is much needed work to do for reforms has his buddy General Prayuth in a tizzy?

I wouldn't be surprised if Suthep was placed into one of these "groups/committee/councils"

And all criminals should be treated fairly and impartially in accordance with the law - not allowed to simply get away with their crimes due to wealth, family, nepotism and having a big gang.

Or do you think they should be allowed back to thieve and cheat again?
