Greetings of the days,

A friend of mine heard that there is a long term staying visa in Thailand,

this type of vsa require to pay around 30,000 USD, and allows you to stay for 20 years,

there are some privileges with this visa as he heard,

myself, I never heard about this kind of visas,

Anyone of you have an idea to share about this matter?

Any feedback will be appreciated,

Thanks.

There is Thai Elite membership program. You can get a 5 year membership for 500k baht or a 20 year one for 2 million baht. Both allow a 5 year multiple entry visa to be issued that allows unlimited on year entries for the 5 years. For the 20 year membership you would get a new visa after the 5 years is finished.

The elite program is ideal for anyone under 50 and with no ties to Thailand. It's convenient but expensive and the "privileges" alone don't IMO justify the cost. You can take the 5 years to begin with and extend to 20 years later.

If over 50 you can get an Non-Immigration "O/A" or "O" visa based on retirement that can be extended every year for a fraction of the cost.
