cumgranosalum
My ex came to Thailand a couple of years ago, and we did a tour of a couple the red light areas in Pattaya. nausea
Prostitution is every country's worst kept secret - grow up. What amazes me is that people pay for sex, when everybody wants it.
KKr
...of course...always some explanation...someone else's fault..... Yep, my wife is adamant that Farang cause prostitution in her country - the old "if they didn't come to my country it wouldn't happen" line. Trying to convince her otherwise is like speaking to a brick wall. And pointing out that it doesn't happen in Malaysia can be life threatening. It doesn't happen in Malaysia? Hilarious. When working in Singapore, my colleagues went across the border for some fun. Wonder what border that was . . .
Basil B
Well for a topic that will be celebrating it's first anniversary in only a few hours... Not really news any more ...if ever it was. Bit like (flogging a dead horse)

gk10002000
From Merriam Webster Dictionary: Simple Definition of prostitution : the work of a prostitute : the act of having sex in exchange for money : the use of a skill or ability in a way that is not appropriate or respectable Many people would disagree on what is not appropriate or respectable. So if no money is exchanged then the sex won't be considered prostitution? Maybe some people should try that defense and if successful people will be stocking up on cameras, i-phones or other desirable goods

Maybe some people should try that defense and if successful people will be stocking up on cameras, i-phones or other desirable goods Not sure what you are saying, but if you claim the giving of goods or sevices other than money for sex constitutes prostitution, then that would mean marriage is a form of prostitution. Even a girlfriend having a free dinner before having sex would also be prostitution. BTW, the escort business in many/ most western countries work on the basis that the girl is being paid for her time and anything more is up to her. I would estimate probably 20%, perhaps even 15%, but a particularly energetic and dedicated 15%, rather than a particularly intelligent 15%. In general testicles are a little smaller than brains, and they're are little further away from the central nervous system so rationality takes a little longer to reach them. Winnie I'll bet you haven't even considered all the Malaysians that come over the border for fun and games in Hat Yai, or all the Japanese heading to Thaniya. They are all tourists too. I never pay much attention to the south of Thailand, parts of which will blow themselves up in due course. which seems reasonable given that Suthep Thaugsuban and the mad monk have quite a following down there.
