Kiwoz
I am presently in Bangkok as Australian tourist on 60 day exempt (30x30) which expires 21.07.2105. However I want to stay in Thailand until 5.08.2015. Can I go by bus/train to Phnom Penh for a day or two, and fly back to Bkk to get a further 30 days? I intend to leave Thailand by train on 5th August to Malaysia. Will I need to have exit ticket booked out of Thailand? I need to be back in Bkk by 16.07.2015. What are my options? Thankyou. ubonjoe
You could do a border hop to get a 15 day entry and then get a 30 day extension of it at immigration. The airline for your return trip may ask to see a ticket out of the country within 30 days of arrival in order for you to board the flight. Kiwoz
Thankyou. What is involved in a 'Border hop' and the easiest way/cost and process to do that from Bkk?
ubonjoe
The easy way is to use a visa run service. This company does them at a cost of 2300 baht that includes the visa on arrival for Cambodia. http://www.thaivisaservice.com/

Kiwoz
Is it possible for me to fly from Bkk to Siem Reap or Phnom Pehn return in the one day and get 30 day visa exempt? Would I need to show exit from Thailand within that time? Thanks.
paz
Is it possible for me to fly from Bkk to Siem Reap or Phnom Pehn return in the one day and get 30 day visa exempt? Would I need to show exit from Thailand within that time? Thanks.Normally to do that people flies to Kuala Lumpur because it's cheaper, there are more flights and there is no visa cost to Malaysia. Kiwoz
Would I be able to return the same day and get 30 days exempt? If so, would I need to show exit ticket from Thailand?
paz
Normally airline in the region won't ask for the exit ticket, but carry it anyway.
