CDC chief suspected recording devices hidden in meeting room
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC) chairman Borwornsak Uwanno Tuesday ordered officials to check if there were any hidden microphones or recording devices in the meeting room after he asked reporters waiting outside how they knew every detail of what was discussed in the room.

The reporters responded by saying they had no idea what Borwornsak was talking about.

The exchange took place before Borwornsak chaired the ninth CDC meeting to discuss the draft charter article by article for the ninth day. He only agreed to start the meeting when it was confirmed that there were no hidden recording devices in the room.

CDC member Kamnoon Sidhisamarn said the panel's decision to adjust the number of constituency and party-list MPs, as well as cut the number of electoral zones from six to one would not affect the main objective of the charter draft, which aims to ensure that every vote is meaningful.

Devices don't have to be recording in the room, just transmit sound. Recording can happen OUTSIDE the room.

Eavesdrop through a ventilation grill, wall, door or window.

Listen via live cell phone in room.

Record.

But should the issue be privacy of CDC discussions when their work affects 60 million Thai people?

As a minimum CDC discussions should be transcribed for eventual full disclosure to the public.

Bizarre?

More unnamed foreign organisations ?

WHO?

Oh I would have thought that most Western Intelligence services will be keeping a very close eye on what's going on in Thailand due to their constant cosying up towards the Chinese ;)

They'd also be very keen on who or what the future Government of the country will be too, as in what political faction it will be, long term plans and strategies, who will be Allies to whom..

The Chinese are worth keeping an eye on.

The other paper is reporting that Thai Intelligence states that a US Agency is behind the dissidents...

Thai intelligence didn't even know one of their own Generals was part of the human trafficking problems.

Probably for the best that Thai Intelligence does not know too much. whistling.gif

(I wonder if they use shoe phones ?)

Poor Borwornsak. He's on his third Constitution and he's feeling like his life has been a waste.

Anyone with a mobile phone has a recording device.

But why should he care? Presumably these activities are important to the public and should, in all honesty, be broadcast/recorded. Unless he is ashamed, or has something to hide?

He does sound like he's gone off the deep end.
