BANGKOK: -- Two teenage robbers who held up seven 7-Eleven convenience stores in Bangkok in a single night on Thursday and escaped with about 25,000 baht in cash were arrested before dawn today.

Metropolitan police commissioner Pol Lt Gen Srivara Rangsitpramakul said one robber is a drug addict and wanted money to buy drugs.

The two robbers wore crash helmets which covered up their faces and took turns to rob the seven convenience stores. All the seven incidents took place between midnight and 2 am.

I am surprised this does not happen more often.

Under Bic C in Khon Kaen they have one of those shops that sell knifes. Along side the knifes are masks and right next to them are replica pistols that look very real. A one stop shop if you will for armed robbers. The only thing they don't do is rob the 7-11 with you.

Providing these two young robbers plead that they committed the offences because A( They were unemployed ) B ( to feed their families), or C( because they were drug addicts ) then the sentences should be minimal. Don't mention greed!

Pair who 'robbed stores and waied staff' held
THE SUNDAY NATION

BANGKOK: -- Two alleged armed robbers who "waied" staff after robbing 7-Eleven convenience stores in Bangkok on Friday night were arrested yesterday morning.

Deputy national police chief General Reungsak Charit-ek said police arrested the duo - identified as Ritthikiat Sirichun, 20, and Autthapun Komkum, 19 - and seized a handmade gun with six rounds of ammunition and their getaway motorcycle at a Din Daeng flat.

The men allegedly robbed stores in the jurisdictions of Suthisan, Din Daeng, Phya Thai and Bang Sue police.

The suspects allegedly confessed that they had not originally planned to rob the stores but randomly began doing so, and waied staff as thanks for their cooperation in handing over cash.

"Or else we would have shot them if they resisted us," the suspects alleged said.

Police will drug test them.

They are facing charges of armed robbery, having an illegal gun and ammunition, and carrying a weapon in public without a sound reason.

I would say they had a very sound reason,

not a legal reason but given their endeavor a very sound reason.

Has anyone ever try to hold up a 7-Eleven with a feather duster?

so that's 5+15+15+15+15+15= 80 years then.

two teenagers one 19 and one 20.

One teenager then facepalm.gif

For many Asians, the term 'teenager' in not always connected to age. It seems to be more an indicator of maturity.

Home-made . 22 revolver. Trying to be economic and eco-friendly.

No just trying to outdo Kamronwit San.

Slightly off topic (about Kamronwit San) - could his name be shortened to Nitwit? I see letters in his name that could be used. thumbsup.gif

While your reading skills seem better, still no prize. Original offence 5 years, with 6 subsequent offences @ 15 gives 95, halved for confession gives 47.5 IF they are given mimimum sentences because of age and/or drug addiction.

Nice to see sentences are cumulative here, though it does lead to anomalies. The system used where a criminal caught once is induced to plead guilty to multiple offences he may or may not have committed because they would be served concurrently, is only there to make the copper's crime stats look good.
