I have the 1 year extension of stay based on retirement. Is it 30 or 45 days before it expire, that I can apply for another year in Bangkok ??

Now that the OP's question has been answered, may I take the liberty of hijacking this thread to highlight an issue with which I was faced when renewing my retirement extension at Maptaput (Rayong) this morning (and with which he may be faced when renewing his at Chaengwattana)?

The main difference this year, when compared to previous years, was that I was asked to complete and sign 2 new forms for the first time. The first, relating to overstay penalties which have yet to be implemented, has been well documented on here and came as no surprise to me. However, I did find the second form puzzling. The top half of the page was in Thai and the bottom half in English, and it appeared to take the form of a letter requesting that I be allowed to submit an application for an extension of stay! Seeing as it called for information which I had already entered on the TM7 form it is really not clear to me what useful purpose this particular form serves - apart from it being a classic case of TIT, of course. However, is this form specific to Maptaput, or is it also required by other immigration offices?

I did my first Extension of Stay about 6 weeks ago in Chiang Mai and was only asked to sign the Overstay Penalty form. Seemes a little pointless given its not Law and will probably never be. Nothing like being prepared though.
