I can't open either one as well.

Nation is up kind of:

Caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra declared state of emergency in Bangkok and transferred Army Commander in Chief Sondhi Bunyaglarin to PM's Office.

Thanks for the note of calm.

I flew back to the UK a few days ago for a holiday and I'm not panicing yet about my return to Koh PhaNgan.

I am a bit worried I can't get hold of the one friend who's phone number I can remember. Rings but no answer. Has anyone else in the UK been able to call out?

Mobile networks here are probably being used to overcapacity or purposely cut, can't call anyone locally.
