I need to go on my last visa run before I get married. I was supposed to go last night but the coup convinced me to stay home. I live on the west outskirts of Bangkok so I really dont know how things are going downtown. Normally I take Jack Golf visa service off of Sukumvit.

Does anyone know if there is a curfew tonight or anything else that may ruin my second attempt?

Thanks for any info.

The coup! Some people will do anything to get the new visa rules revoked.

I believe it was a normal day today for the visa runs. Tomorrow has already been declared a normal workday so there should not be any problem.

lop,

do u think the MFA etc will be 'business as usual' in november what with changing ministers etc??? if visa stuff is working does that mean that other gov offices will be stamping forms also???

the tanks dont bother me, i just really want to know if paperwork can be done... or is this too soon to ask? i'm assuming MFA building is considered govt building? i really need to book flights very very soon

I do not believe there will be any problem tomorrow, much less so in November. Government people are quite able to function during these kind of times.

They say business as usual tomorrow and I believe it. Have been here during many of these changes of government. Normal day to day operations should not be changed. The civil service is still in place and will function.

There was today, at least , at the Cambodian Border no problem.

However the Military can instruct the Immigration any time to close own if they feel threaten or get instructed by their commanders.

I would assume that all will be fine tmr and in the coming days.

Do not think/hope that they will change the just announced Visa Rules.

Troops close northern Thai borders with both Laos and Burma, and forbid all overland travel from those countries. International airports open as normal.

The border just south of Hat Yai was open even on Wednesday.

I'm in Penang and the gal at my hotel called the minibus service, who said it was business as usual.
