Applying for Non-O volunteer visa in Penang (currently on tourist visa extension)

Hi guys,

I'm an Indonesian nationality currently living in Thailand. I entered the country with tourist visa in early June and got 30 day extension. I'm planning to re-enter the country with 90 days non-immigrant O visa, for volunteering at a local animal shelter.

My question is: can I apply for the mentioned visa at Thai consulate in Penang? Because I read they won't issue the visa if there's an extension stamp from Thai immigration on my passport.

Any experience, thoughts, ideas? TIA

The getting an extension from immigration rule was only for getting a tourist visa and was done away with long ago.

Providing you have all the correct supporting documents you will have no problem getting a single entry non-o visa.
