Instead of making it across and having to flee into the bushes, it sounds like a case of - "We're here. When do we get our complimentary breakfast? We're waiting". Just those that go in the UK by road necessarily pass through Calais where they are visible. Those other countries have ID cards, the UK and the migrants do not. They are asking for assistance because they do not have the required resources and manpower. This is exactly what M.A.C.A was intended for. See what would happen to you if you tried to force your way on to a flight ,train or ship. Why should they be treated any different. There is so much bullshit written about them fleeing from political oppression yet the majority are economic refuges, not political..
