Does anyone know where I can buy this here in Thailand? I used to buy it from the Pool Doctors but they don't answer em or telephones any longer.

I know I can buy chlorine mixed with cyanauric acide but I would prefer just the cycnauric acid as I can produce more than enough chlorine with my chlorinators.

It's cheaper to supplement chlorination with a dose of stabilised chlorine powder/granules for a few months in the rainy season, or switch off the chlorinator and go to full manual chlorine dosing for a few weeks.

This approach is tempting, given the price of CYA, though I have always been slightly concerned at whether this reduces the life of the chlorinator cell. It does seem to increase the build up of white deposits on the chlorinator cell plates - especially if adopting the supplementation approach - but the deposit can be cleaned off with a couple of 10 minutes 10% HcL soakings. I therefore prefer the switch off and temporary manual chlorination approach (but have no authoritative support for that preference).

You actually only need a CyA level of 25 to achieve a cost-effective protection against chlorine degradation according to some academic research - see attached pdf. I tend to maintain at around 40 - it's only one piece of research and it does not seem to have been taken up by the industry as authoritative (for obvious reasons?).
