bkkheat
Hi, I would like to get my non-B visa, I am from Australia. I was thinking of going to Laos or Cambodia, but hear that they can refuse you for whatever reason and it is harder. So, where is the best place? ubonjoe
Laos is not a problem as long as you have all the required paperwork. If not teaching you will need a work permit application approval letter from the Labor Ministry.
bkkheat
To get the work permit application approval, I thought you need to get the Non B first?
ubonjoe
The work permit can be applied for with a tourist visa or visa exempt entry. The work permit will not be issued until you have the non-b visa.
bkkheat
OK, so can just apply for the WP, they will give me an approval letter and with that, I can use that to get the Non B......
Too
Hiello bkkheat, I first went to the Thai Embassy in Vientiane to apply for a Non-B which was good for 3 months, got back to Thailand to apply for a WP at the local Labor Office and then went to the immigration office to make a 1-year extension of my Non-B. This is what I did. Good luck.
fireplay
The best place is to get it in your home country. I go back every year for one. No paperwork. Nothing. I never get a wp either...so easy 5 minutes and bang finished.

It was much easier for me to apply for and obtain a Non-B at the Thai Embassy in Vientiane, Laos than at the Thai Embassy in my country, so you should check out and see what documents you will have to submit to them and how long it will take you, etc.
