On top of that, he said the city administration had prepared parking lots at Sanam Luang, in front of the city hall and car parks of Bang Lamphu and Chatuchak office which can accommodate 500 cars.

In addition, areas around the Royal Plaza, army stadium, army club, the 11th infantry regiment barrack and Kasetsart University will be open to parking and they can accommodate up to 10,170 cars.

Pol Lt-Gen Prawuth Thavornsiri, the assistant national police chief, said that police were 95 percent ready to do their jobs to provide security and to maintain peace and order this coming Sunday.

I have lived in downtown BKK for 5 years. Never been mugged, never been burglarized, never even seen a real dust-up on the street.

I'm not a big fan of some of the cops, but there must be a few doing their jobs quite well.
