Cambodia Bayon Airlines' maiden jet due by year-end

Featured Replies

Cambodia Bayon Airlines (BD, Phnom Penh) is planning to begin jet operations by the end of this year/early next year following the arrival of its maiden A320-200. The carrier currently uses a single MA-60 to serve Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Sihanoukville locally and Ho Chi Minh City regionally.

However, the Sayacinta Post states the arrival of jet aircraft will pave the way for a dramatic network expansion with flights to Singapore Changi, Vientiane, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur Int'l, Yangon, Nanning, Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok, Guangzhou, Shanghai Pudong, Seoul Incheon, and Osaka Kansai.

Initial reports had indicated the carrier intended to acquire a fleet of twenty MA60 and ten A320-200 aircraft by 2020.

Cambodia Bayon Airlines is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bayon Holding Limited, a joint-venture between JoyAir (JR, Xi'an Xianyang) and the Aviation Industrial Corporation of China (AVIC).

I am not game to fly with this airline and it may be a few years before I would feel secure enough to do so !
