Project mnager - Apartment renovation

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I'm wiring in for a friend who has a dilemma. He's bought an apartment outside of Bangkok and hired a 'project manager' last year to do the renovation. It was due to be done by January of THIS YEAR. Through a number of delays (a major one out of his control) it is about 90% done. However the PM has now walked away from the project stating she is only a 'designer' and this has left him stranded.

My friend is a non-technical guy who does not know/understand the construction issues. I jumped in last February to help on some things but am definitely not qualified or available to do anything.

Besides the issue of having to find a lawyer to sort out the past issues/responsibilities, he needs to complete the job so he can move in and live there. We need a local PM who can assess the work already done (and not done) and quote a price and complete the job with another contractor. The work to be done is finishing the cosmetics of an air conditioning installation (already installed), painting, some tile work, wooden flooring, and details like lighting and installing sinks/stoves/bathtubs. Everything has been purchased and all the M&E has been done (95%).

Would appreciate any solid references.

Thank you,

David

Please indicate "where" the actual location of this little project is ?(or PM me)

Cheers,

SF

Hi SF, It is in Thana City, near the airport.

I am currently in Hong Kong and my friend who owns the apartment is in the UK currently. So we're stuck with not being able to being there for another couple weeks...

Regards,

David
