Hmm so the accusation here is that Thais do not like to walk far - funny how the accusations are all from farangs who are all on motorbikes??

Ever thought of walking yourselves?

I think you didn't really understand the point of the thread. Let me rephrase and hopefully make it clearer to you:

1. Parking in dangerous places or creating problems for others due to blocking just so you don't have to walk a few meters: lazy

2. Driving a motorbike because you don't want to walk a couple (dozen) kilometers: not lazy

Point 1 is what the thread is about and is very different from point 2 which you compared it to.

Tell me where in the OP it states "driving a motorbike because you dont want to walk a couple of dozen km"?

Yeah . . well done for clearing that right up for me cheesy.gif

Nothing to do with distance but if you have travelled a good few km, why do moaning farangs need to park right outside the door of the establishment? Park 20m away and stop BEING LAZY like you accuse the Thais maybe? Double standards here. Point is, if you dont want this hassle, park a little a bit away from where this is bound to occur - simple. What a crap thread anyway, crying about nothing

Ok I guess you have a bit of reading comprehension issues. The couple dozen kilometers thing was regarding your post of generally driving a motorbike, not the OP. I thought it was made very clear in my last sentence that I linked point 2 to your comment.

You have a point in that if you know that some place will be parked in such a way by people that inner bikes will be blocked then parking somewhere not far away might circumvent the problem though it wouldn't make it go away. The problem though is that you might not know this for every place you might want to go. The issue is that you park in a normal parking lot and later, after you went away, others start parking around you and block your bike.

What if you know that for a particular establishment, this problem exists and you therefor park somewhere else just to come back to be blocked in that very spot? The root of the issue is that people park in stupid places. Getting rid of symptoms doesn't fix the cause of the problem.

And one is NOT LAZY by parking in a designated parking spot. No double standard at all. That's what parking lots are for.

I hope this clears up the confusion for you. If you need further help let me know, I'll be here all day.

Sorry let me try and explain what I mean so you dont keep on referring to one example . . .

Thai people have been accused here of being lazy, not wanting to walk anywhere hence trying to park as close as they can to the entrance of the building where they are going, such as a gym, supermarket or 7/11. Fair enough, if farang is there before and gets blocked in I get the beef, but if farang knows this might happen, why not park further away and basically not do what the lazy Thais do and be hypocritical lazy farangs accusing Thais of doing exactly what farang is doing (by that I mean being lazy, not blocking anyone in). Point is, if you know there is a chance of being blocked in, why not park somewhere where there is less chance of being blocked in then no need to cry about something so irrelevant?

I understand your point but it seems you are trying your hardest not to understand my point just to have a girly spat? As you said, you are here all day so you are obviously bored and have nothing better to do than try and goad an argument so because of that I will now unfollow this topic so you can argue with yourself or maybe goad someone into your simple 1 track way of seeing things ;)

I'll list my arguments now so you can easily understand them piece by piece.

1. You can not know for any place you want to go if you might get blocked in by other motorists

2. There is no hypocrisy because of 1.

3. Someone parking in a designated parking lot is not lazy because that's what these are for.

4. Regarding parking somewhere else: that was the main point of my last post. See point 1.

5. Not sure why you call the whole problem irrelevant. Irrelevant to what?

6. I understand your point but I wanted to counter it because it doesn't make things better. The whole treating symptoms thing.

7. My being ready to help you further your understand of the thread doesn't mean I am bored. It means I have time and will to explain things to you.

8. I am sorry to hear you gave up on improving your understanding of the discussion and issue raised.

9. You are right in that I see this in a very simple manner. Not 1 track way though.

And BTW this is not much about Falang vs Thai. There are also falangs blocking others and many thais not doing so. It's more about many people in Thailand doing it. Of course it'll mostly be Thais and it's probably Thais who started with it or at least spread it.

Note that the OP does not mention Thais or Farangs. It says Thailand in the title and a generic "people" in the post.

Stay tuned for another episode of "Learning Logic with eisfeld". I'll be signing autographs as well as being available for a Q&A session at the end of the thread.
