Mae Sai to Chiang Rai

Got to do a border run soon.

I know there are buses from Mae Sai to Chiang Mai, but cannot find anything on buses to Chiang Rai.

I want to go from Mae Sai to Chiang Rai and then to Chiang Mai because then I can leave later as opposed to using a direct bus from Mai Sae to CM because the last one leaves too early for me.

From the CIQ about 5 mins walk you will see a 7/11 store on the left...take a songthaew in from of the store to the bus terminal...then a bus to Chiang Rai.....not sure just ask around people are helpful....

There are buses evry 20 minutes from Mae Sai to Chiang Rai's old bus terminal down town. Last bus is about 6pm. These are old fan buses. Takes about 90 minutes.

There are also minibuses.

You could also get an ac green bus Thailand bus from Mae Sai to CR but they are not that frequent.

Green bus Thailand has buses from the old CR terminal to Chiang Miasma.

Other companies leave from the new bus terminal south of town. There is a blue songtoew that runs between the 2 terminals.
