Hi I'm from Chiang Mai.
I would like to know about deposit money for Non-O Visa (Gurdian Visa).
My son is in K1 and his int'l school provided documents for his student visa and Non-O visa for me.
School said we dont need to go out of Thailand as we meet 21 days rules. and they said I must have B 500,000 in bank at least 3 months before I apply visa.
If anyone have recent experience in changing visa from tourist to Non-O here, when do you need to deposit B 500,000 to bank?

before apply the visa or before extend you visa?
Is it different if we go out of country and apply visa? (last six month ago my friend n his daughter went to laos and apply visas. He got Non-O 3 months and no need to show money. He needed to show money in bank for one month before extension)
I read several topics in forum and immigation rules too but still confuse and want to know their recent rules. Thank you :)

You will have to go to an embassy or consulate to get your non-o visa. Immigration will not do a conversion to a non immigrant visa based upon qualifying for an extension of stay based upon being the parent of a child attending school (it is not a guardian extension).

Unless you are in Bangkok your child will also have to go out for his non-ed visa. It would be best to get their non-ed visa and your non-o at the same time from an embassy or consulate.

To apply for the non-o visa you will not need to show the 500k batht in the bank. That will only be needed when you apply for the extension of stay.

Thank you ubonjoe.
I went to the CM immigration and wait 2 days to meet officer.
My son still have 24 working days left in his visa and he can change w/o going out but not me.
So I decide to go out both of us to change visa.
For B 500,000 she said I hv to deposit in bank at least one month before extension.

When I apply Non O visa, do I need my house owner's house book copy? I have lease agreement and her id copy with sign.

Thanks again.
