PHNOM PENH (Khmer Times) – The bombing that shook Thailand this week will have a mixed impact on Cambodia, where about half of all tourists come through Thai airports, industry experts said yesterday

Monday night’s bombing at the Erawan temple in packed downtown Bangkok killed 20 people, including 11 foreigners and injured 125 more – dozens seriously.

Tourism Minister Thong Khon said yesterday that there would be an effect. “There are some spillover effects on our tourism industry because about 40 percent of the international tourists enter Cambodia through Thailand. We hope that the situation in Bangkok will return to normal soon,” he said.
