A visa for graduated Chinese student

Featured Replies

I have one of my students that has just graduated from ABAC with his masters degree in Psychology. His Ed visa expires on the 30th of this month. He has just received his letter and transcripts and he wishes to stay here in thaialnd to do some research and also maybe go to study at Chulalongkorn for his PhD. He is financially secure, but I hear that Chinese have to leave the country for a tourist visa. I have checked with many agencys including Visarun, who I know very well and he suggested that maybe Penang might give hm a tourist visa. Does anybody have any advice. He is a good student and person. Thank you all for any help or advice you can give or share.

I think that the only thing which might be available would be a VOA which would provide a 15 day stay.

As I am not 100% sure please await further comments.

China appears on the list of countries whose citizens must apply for a visa in their home country. This from the KL website which is what Penang will go by: http://www.thaiembassy.org/kualalumpur/contents/files/services-20141216-151507-411806.pdf

It is probably to late to know. One option would of been to enroll in another school and get a new extension prior to the date his current one ends.

If it would help he could go out and re-enter to get a visa on arrival (1000 baht) that would give him 15 days.
