visa from the UK

Featured Replies

I am a UK national, looking to go to Pattaya for four months on a tourist visa.

Can I only get a visa for 60 days from the UK Thai embassy?, then extend it at the Jomtien office for another 30 days?, then another 30 days after that? Do I need a triple entry for this?, or is there a cheaper more efficient way to get my four months?

Any claryfercation would be appreciated.

A double entry will cover 4 months.

Upon first entry to Thailand, you will be given 60 days.

Visit any immigration office in Thailand to extend by another 30 days (costs 1900 baht).

Leave Thailand and return to activate second entry = another 60 days.

Should you need it, you can extend by another 30 days at any immigration office in Thailand.

If you want to avoid the cost for extension of stay at Immigration and will only stay 4 months, you can skip the extension and simply do a border run (60 + 60 days).

The Royal Thai Embassy in London issue single, double and triple entry visas (£25 per entry), usually within 3-4 days. You can apply in person or by mail.

To activate your second entry, you can either fly in and out of Thailand (visit Malaysia, Cambodia or Vietnam, perhaps), or take a minivan to the Cambodian border and back. There are many agencies in Pattaya organising these "border run" tours.

excellent, I will now way the costing up of both options and plan from there, thanks for your help.

Double entry tourist visa is £50

A visa run from Pattaya will cost you around £45

You do not need to waste money extending your 1st entry
