Best way to send a parcel from UK

I was wondering if any members get parcels from the UK.

I need a reliable form of courier ie DHL or Post Office, there was a thread from a few years back on Thai Visa, but was wondering if anyone had more up to date experiences

The original thread said it was Royal Mail International signed for which was the best is this still the case.

As with the original thread it is also medication that I will be sending , as my Specialist can only give me a limited supply of the medication.

In the original thread someone got on there high horse about getting medication when I don't live in the UK anymore. If you feel the same start your own thread to moan about it ,Thanks

Any help on reliable updated Postal or Courier services please , I am based in Northern Thailand

A courier will undoubtedly lead to extra "charges", avoid them at all costs is my opinion.

Royal Mail " International signed for" is adequate and rarely is there any issue.

This of course depends entirely on the contents of the package, the declaration that has to be made etc.

You mention "drugs/medicines" that sounds like a hassle to me no matter what or how you send it for obvious reasons.

You may want to check that the "medicine" is permitted to be imported into Thailand for a start.

+1 for Charlie. International signed-for is still the best bet, but medications will set all sorts of flags.

Can your medication (or a generic) be obtained here?

If you post what it is them-as-knows will assist.

Thanks for the reply Crossy. I have inquired about getting my medication in Bangkok , but it was not available, they have medication but not the same, and as I have been on this medication for nearly 20 years so don't really want to change.

Still a little vague, as you talk about it being from your specialist and in limited quantities I'm assuming it is a prescription medication. Probably it's counterpart that is available in Bangkok is also prescription only ? Some medicines are permissible provided there is a doctors letter attached to the package. Others require a licence. It's a minefield and some medications that are OTC in the UK, codeine containing compounds etc are strictly illegal in Thailand and classed as a narcotic.
