Two men – one of them a border police official – were sent to court yesterday after allegedly being arrested with nearly 2 kilograms of methamphetamine in Stung Treng province’s Thala Barivat district on Tuesday, police said.

Kong Kemsun, deputy director of the Anti-Drug Crime Central Office in Stung Treng, identified the suspects as locally based border police officer Long Chantry, also known as Noy, 31, and motodop Chou Savoeun, 55, from Phnom Penh.

“It was a blatant crime, so they will face the law,” he said.

The suspects admitted during questioning that the drugs came from Laos, he added.
