Six Month Double Entry Visa ?

Featured Replies

Any new word on the proposed six month double entry visa ?

Nope. Nothing. Zilch.

Isn't it supposed to be multiple entry?

Nope. Nothing. Zilch.

Apparently an announcement will be made on Sunday.

if you only get 60 days in country i dont see what advantage to it

You can trip over to Cambodia and Vietnam for a stay smile.png

Information should become available this or next month.

....the one that was supposed to have been offered in July.......???

whistling.gif The newspaper article said that it would be published in the Royal Gazette in 60 days if approved.

If it happens I don't expect it before the end of September.

If it happens, carefully check what the details are....what it will cost and the details of how it will be issued.

As it is said, the devil is always in the details.

They said the idea was to DO LIKE OTHER COUNTRIES DID, and offer a longer 6 months tourist visa.

If you do look at other Asian countries known to have long stay Western foreigners such as India, they did offer a 6 months visa.

But the devil was in the details it was NOT RENEWABLE. In other words 6 months is now the maximum stay on a tourist visa, in India.

Some member reported here being "red stamped" after only one double entry and applying for a second and being told by Vientiane that from now on, TR visa stay is 6 months max.

6 months seems very fair for a tourist visa.

Tiring of having to exit Thailand each 30 days, I purchased for USD$295 a 12 month BUSINESS visa for Cambodia and rented an apartment in Sihanoukville. While going to the Suvarnabhumi airport, I was challenged to produce my Thailand WORK VISA, because of my Cambodian Business visa. Stated I was leaving Thailand within 48 hours and had to provide a copy of confirmed flight. Placed on notice that next time I enter LOS I'd better have the correct Visa, or else. Upon returning from abroad, they noticed my online files but had no reason NOT to issue another 30 day visa for Thailand.

Any suggestions, recommendations or free advice is appreciated. I don't mind paying another USD$300 for a multiple entry Thailand visa good for 12 months.

If you live in Thailand and travel to Cambodia with a business visa, it is not unreasonable for a Thai immigration officer to assume that you are employed by a Thai company and are travelling to Cambodia on business on behalf of your employer.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
