Bangkok.... Things To Do

Featured Replies

I'll be having a full day's stopover in Bangkok on my way home, flying in at 4am, and out at 23.40.

Seems like a good opportunity to have a look around........

Can people recommend must see sights, and a good budget hotel either close to the sirport, or in the city, I'm sure I'll want to have a sleep and a shower before my flight back.

I've had a look at a couple of sites that offer tours, they all seem to be a bit the same, and I'm not sure....but a bit touristy perhaps?

I'm happy to hear whatever you can suggest.

Buy a Nancy Chandler Map. She's got a little guide book in there too.

Get a day pass for the Skytrain. BTS.

Avoid any advice from Taxies, Tuk Tuks, strangers.

Take the Skytrain to Thaksin Station and get the 13baht boat to go see The Grand Palace.

(again, avoid the friendly strangers down there).

Places to eat;

by the way, if you book anything near the airport, make sure you know which airport you are flying into, as they will be changing national airports tomorrow, I believe.

just a word to the well `prepared.

On other issues, i`ll relinquish. Haven`t been near BKK for a while.
