On my next visit I´m aiming at having a go to Cambodia as well.

From what I´ve learned I might as well skip the

'scam-buses' departing from Kao San Road (that´s the name of

the backpackers´vein in Bkk, right?).

How much does going a regular (state?) bus cost and for how long

will I be enjoying the ride?

Most convinient would be to arrive in Aranyaprathet (or any town closer

to the border with decent accomodation) early in the evening and head

for the Cambodian border first thing at dawn the next day- hopefully

dodging too much queing.

Anyone with useful tips or suggestions?

Buses leave for Aranyapratet from Mo Chit station - trip time is about 5 hours, depending on stops.

I think you're better off leaving early morning - passing through the border about midday & then onwards to Siam Reap or Phnom Penh by the evening.

There's nothing to see or do in Poipet unless you fancy staying at a casino for a night.

Sounds good enough, would you by any chance know how much

it costs as well?

I am planning to leave early morning, from Aranyaprathet and then head

for Battambang Train station with my sights set on Pnom Phen and Sihanoukville.

(Angkor on the way back - or perhaps the first stop before going down south.

Not decided yet)
