Clinton back in Iowa, promises to take on Republicans
By CATHERINE LUCEY

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Campaigning in Iowa over Labor Day weekend, Hillary Rodham Clinton said she is ready to take on Republican opposition and will press for specifics on immigration proposals by front-runner Donald Trump.

The Democratic presidential candidate and former secretary of state said in Cedar Rapids Sunday that "the other side has said they will spend, do and say anything to win back the White House."

She added: "I am absolutely confident that whatever they throw at me, I can throw it right back."

Clinton made the comments before more than 100 people gathered at a private house party. She also campaigned earlier in the day before crowds packed inside and outside a Newton coffee shop.

Clinton pledged to raise incomes, expand early childhood education and defend the Affordable Care Act. She also called for immigration reform and questioned the immigration proposals from Trump.

"I'm going to be pressing very hard to get specifics, because there aren't any specifics," Clinton said. "This is just the kind of political rhetoric that doesn't belong in our election."

Clinton did not take any press questions and did not discuss her use of a private email system at the State Department.

She is set to appear at Labor Day events Monday in Cedar Rapids, Burlington and Hampton, Illinois.

Listen to this speech. She is awful. Worst that fingernails down a chalkboard. The US will lose even more world respect if we put her in office. I would venture to say more people in the US respect Putin than Obama right now. I think Obama would stand behind Hillary 100% because she would make even him appear competent.

She WANTS no one to come see her.giggle.gif

She doesn't want anyone to ask her questions, especially the press. She's hiding. Hell will freeze over before that bale of hay will hold a nationally televised press conference.

This is what people are sick of - canned politicians with canned speeches and limited access.

The OP is that she will take on Republicans. Why doesn't she just invite Trump for a joint nationally televised interview, live and with no teleprompters 555. (No question mark needed there LOL.)

Oddsmakers on the election winner in November next year remain steady as they go.

There are two sets of odds on the race at this point but it's tough to get a piece of paper between 'em concerning the outcome.

The predominant oddmakers have the contest as follows...

Hillary Clinton at 11-10

JeBush at 4-1

Trump 4-1

Biden and Sanders each at 12-1

Rubio 14-1

Walker at 22-1

Kasich 25-1

At insiginficantly different odds in respect of election outcome are a smaller group of oddsmakers....

Hillary Clinton at 6-5

JeBush at 7-2

Trump at 7-1

Biden 11-1

Sanders 12-1

Rubio 14-1

Walker and Kasich each at 22-1.

Polling, odds and political instinct are a good way to try to figure what might be occurring at a given time.

Polls change and fluctuate a lot more than the odds do. JeBush for instance has become the proverbial rock in the R party polls but the odds are still good for him despite Trump leading Bush in the polls by three touchdowns and a field goal.

Trump and Sanders have gained in the odds only after a couple of months of consistent polls across the board. Bush remains favored for the nomination but Trump runs as strongly in the general among the oddsmakers as does JeBush.

The odds start to make their most significant and broad shifts once the states start voting in their primaries and losers start dropping out. Scott Walker however has the dubious distinction of already collapsing in both the polls and in the odds.

It is significant that last month, for the first time ever, the odds of a female being elected POTUS went even which is where the odds continue to be today. Prior to last month the odds had always been against it to include throughout the primaries in 2008.

Trump is the Wizard Himself.

Smoke, bluster, mirrors, always and every time.

Clinton is a moron. Seriously, listen to her speak. It is so fake and pathetic. Forget politics. Do you want someone that is that fake and FOS. No one respects here. She will be Putin's little bi*** which is the last thing the US needs right now. No one but old people (really old people) and blacks are supporting her right now. That should speak volumes.

The CCP Boyz hate and fear HRC and Putin knows he's next as the center of the global economy is returning to the West led by the United States.

A Pres HRC is very likely to retain Ashton Carter as SecDef who is the strongest hawk SecDef in memory and is also focused on the CCP Boyz in Beijing. The new chairman of the JCS, Marine Gen Fighting Joe Dunford brings combat command experience of two theaters of war to stare off Russian brass hats who still can't prevail in Ukraine.

Do you want someone that is that fake and FOS.

That is your characterisation so don't try to ascribe it to me or to get me to make a cooperative reply. The mischaracterisation is rejected, as is the redneck misrepresentation of the broad, diverse and inclusive national support HRC has to be elected POTUS.

Trump is indeed the blustering smoke and mirrors Wizard of Oz exposed, ol' orange face Himself. I continue to urge the far out extreme right to go all out to get the nomination for The Donald who remains God's gift to the Democratic party in this election cycle. So keep up the great work.

Ah, that's why she again gave an extensive press interview yesterday.

Not in front of cameras or crowds. She's micromanaging the press. I said nationally televised press conference. Trump for instance goes on national TV shows to keep himself out there.

The worst thing that will happen, they made it clear, is that HRC will get the dem nomination and fail. Centrists do not support her. She simply is not presidential material. I would vote for Warren, she is one very, very sharp knife in the drawer, but never Hillary.

I'm a centrist, and vote independently. I know that means I do not get to vote in many primaries, but I think both parties are clown shows. The dems wear sweaters and talk about conservation, human rights, and peace, and freedom; while the repubs want to blow up anything that moves, sell the entire government to corporate and bank interests, and generally make foreign policy a writ of domination and condemnation.

Most of my friends are also centrists, and they are all leaning strongly toward Sanders, who has an 8% lead in the New Hampshire polls, which is significant. The form of Socialism Sanders supports is much like British social programs, and is intelligent and humane. Our schools are being sold off to Charter schools, our roads and bridges are literally falling down, and people lose their entire life savings over one catastrophic illness. Things are not completely undone, but it is pretty close to being a mockery of what America can be, but isn't.

I think democrats and republicans are rather tired of dynasties. We need new blood, fresh ideas, and a wilingness to NOT sell out.
