Nebido (Testosterone)

Featured Replies

Been having Nebido (Testosterone) injections every 3 months at Bumrungrad Men’s Clinic for the last 1-1/2 years. Feel great but their price has been increasing each time and is now around 15,000 including the blood test and doctor fee. Starting to feel this price is excessive for 2 reasons;

1. I noticed in another thread you can buy Nebido in local pharmacies for approx 6,000, presumably the pharmacy can still make a profit at that level so it shows you Bumrungrad's mark-up.

2. The Doc at Bumrungrad insists on doing a blood test every 3 months “for monitoring”, even though I’m feeling great and all my blood results related to this treatment have been stable for a year, even my PSA levels have actually dropped to almost zero (they were always very low with no sign of a prostrate issue). According to Nebido website you only need to do a blood test annually after the testosterone levels are stable providing there are no prostate issues.

Does anyone know of another specialist clinic in Bangkok (hormones or men’s health) that does Nebido for a more reasonable price? I prefer to be under the supervision of a doctor (one stop shop) rather than buying it myself from a pharmacy and asking some nurse to inject it.

Just wanted to post why you don't inject it yourself....but than I read the last sentence.....

Wouldn't be all these small clinics able to do it cheaply...they may even get the Nebido for you.

I've noticed some pharmacies have a room at the back that looks like a doctors office with a sign in Thai that looks official. Are thise actially doctors offices that can do injections? If so that might be a way to do this.

Conventional Testosterone Enanthate weekly may be cheaper. I get that and a blood test once a month to monitor test levels (aiming for approx. 800-1,000) and estrogen also. I take a very cheap estrogen blocker if that gets higher than my doc suggests. Balance is the objective. Nebido does not give you balance over the entire 3 months though it is supposed to.

Thanks for the suggestion but I like the 3 month cycle and feel great with it.

St. Louis Hospital (Sathorn) will be much less expensive than Bumrungrad. Unfortunately their website has been revised and is only in Thai so I can't suggest who to see there but anyway your are well stabliized so suggest just going there and asking the nurses at the first floor reception to suggest a doctor.

Get your records from Bumrungrad to bring with you.

I like it, the nurse tells me I have a sexy bum bum! I think she may have worked in a bar in a previous life!

try Dr. Donna, med consult clinic

located soi 49/9 at the ravquet club

02-7627-855

very reasonable, uk doctor.

I moved back to the states but curious what is the latest in Thailand.

Still no transdermal creams and gels?

In the US they now have nasal gels, sublingual, implantable pellets, very affordable creams at compounding pharmacies.

Anything new in hormone replacement there?

I pay 8000 baht for the injection in Pattaya at Dr Olivers so yes you are paying way too much. One thing I do agree with your Dr is that regular blood work is important.

Is Androgel only available at hospital pharmacies, or is it (legally) available at pharmacies outside hospitals?
