Kanchanaburi Border

Featured Replies

Does anybody know the current situation at this border regarding stamping the 2nd entry of a double entry Tourist Visa?

It seems all Borders along Cambodia are now not stamping anyone

I need to do a out/in on 30th September and was planning on going to Kanchanaburi

Any advice on the situation at this crossing would be helpful,

Kanchanaburi is closed for all intents and purposes.

Mae Sot to Myanmar since you have a visa (no visa exempts allowed) is an option..

Thanks Joe, a quick look at the map shows it to be pretty far from Hua Hin, these Border crossings closures are a nightmare

UbonJoe is Ranong still a option for a out/in on a Tourist Visa? And if so are they likely to ask for a onward ticket? Thanks

Does anybody know if it's still possible to do a out/in on a Tourist Visa at Ranong and if so do they ask for proof of onward travel, funds etc etc

Thankyou,

Yes it is possible.

Just to clarify though, would it still be an option to go there if you wanted to travel into Myanmar and come back the same way a few days (or weeks) later?

I believe you mean it's closed for same day in/outs for those without Myanmar visas for all intents and purposes. But not for ordinary travellers, leaving or coming into Thailand after having spent some time in Myanmar?

I don't think Myanmar would be happy about the Thais closing off a border they jointly agreed to open to increase tourism in the region, though I realize most foreigners seem to have no such intentions and just go on a one hour visa run.

from what I understood, if you have a proper Myanmar visa you would have to stay 2 days+ and then you could come back

that is what has been told to me after I asked.

I could not stay two days and they refused me to go forward.
