Boat Operators Put Lives at Risk, in Sihanoukville

SIHANOUKVILLE (Khmer Times) – Concerns have been raised in Sihanoukville over the handling of last week’s prohibition on maritime transport between the coast and nearby islands.

One boat operator, Koh Rong Dive Center (KRDC), and one of its skippers, has come under fire for making a four-hour voyage in choppy waters as a storm began pummeling the coast. The boat was carrying around 120 tourists.

“It was a disgusting way to gamble with our lives,” one passenger told the owner of a hotel she stayed at after arriving onshore.
