Non Immigration B Visa extention

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I have been in Thailand for 4 years and it seems visa issues will never get simple...

The first 2 years I got a one year non b visa from marseille consulate.

Sadly the consulate closed last summer so I applied for an extension in Thailand at immigration office. I was director of my company at the time and even if it took 2 months and thousands of photocopies, I did get it.

This year I am not director anymore and a simple employee i the company. I went to immigration office who told me the rules have changed and I need to show my income tax for last year as well as the health insurance certificate for 4 thai employees for the last 3 months.

because our work is seasonal, I only worked for 5 months and paid for income tax for these 5 months and they are saying I should have paid for 12 months income tax, not just 5 months... which I didnt know. We run a seasonal business so it is quite hard to pay myself a salary all year long. Especillay when the minimum I can pay is 50,000thb... sad.png I still have my work permit valid for another month.

All other company papers are in order. I am currently an employee on the company payroll and there are enough thai employees on the last 3 months.

Do I need to go to a thai embassy again and start is from scratch, again... to apply for a new non immigration visa? any other way I could just extend my current visa?

I am less than 50 and have 2 millions baht at the bank, I suppose that's not enough for an investor visa? any other option?

If I need to go to an embassy... oh joy... I'll go to Kl even if I know its not the best option... any advice? any current/ recent list of what is needed?

thank you!

If you have a work permit that has at least 8 months remaining on it you could get a multiple entry non-b visa in Penang.

You should try and get you work permit extended and then a apply for the visa in Penang.

If you are willing to spend 500k baht you could get a 5 year PE visa under the Thai Elite program that allows one year entries. See: http://www.thailandelite.com/glimpse.php

Is there a way to renew my work permit without having a visa???

Because last year I:

1/went to immigration to appply for extention

2/after much back and forth and copies they gave me a one month extention

3/ I could then go to labour office to apply for extention

4/they gave me a paper saying that provided I had a visa, they would deliver the WP

5/ with this paper I was granted the one year extention

6/and with the one year extention I could go back to labour office for my work permit extention...

Oh my... and no I don't want to pay 500k for elite card. that's a bit too much I think.

I was thinking about applying for the permanent residency next year if I manage to get my visa extended (because I beleive you have to show three consecutive one year extention and new visas you got at an embassy do not count... so would rather extend than go to an embassy for a new visa...

oh well...

Thanks for you help.

With 2 millions bahts in capital in a company, I beleive I have the right to go to the one stop shop in bangkok, right? is that any easier to get an extention?

Unless your extension has expired you still have a valid entry.from a non-b visa That is all that is required to have a work permit issued.

For permanent residency is is not just 3 years on extension you also need 3 full years of tax payments.

Not sure what you can do to get the extension sorted out.

You cannot use the one stop. It is only for BOI registered companies.
