90 days reporting

Featured Replies

HI,

At the end of October I should have done 90 days reporting. However on 14th I go visit my family in Europe for a week. On the imigration website I found : However, if you leave Thailand anytime during the 90-day period, then the day count will restart from upon the arrival date of your re-entry into Thailand.

Does it mean I don't have to do this this time? Just want the confirmation because I would like to avoid paying fines.

The requirement is to report 90 consecutive days in Thailand.

If you are not here 90 days you do not report.

Surely an exit stamp on your passport *is* reporting! The 90 day clock starts again on re-entry.

My question is: how easy is it to get 90 day extension upon entry into Thailand for a three or four month stay? Last time I just went through immigration on the standard 30 tourist visa, which meant having to do a border run sooner rather than later.

As long as you leave Thailand before your due report date then you don't have to report.

Your next report will be due 90 days from the date you re-enter Thailand (make a note in your diary).

Do you have a re-entry permit to keep your current extension live?

If your out of Thailand when your extension is due, then you have to start the whole procedure again.

There are no 90 day extensions.

You cannot get a 90 day extension in Thailand.

For 3/4 months a 2 entry Tourist Visa would be the best option. You can extend each 60 day entry by 30 days at a local Immigration office.

So you could stay for 6 months in reality.

There is also a new 6 month multi entry Tourist Visa being offered from October.

The topic is about doing reports of staying longer than 90 day in the country.

You are asking about entries to the country. You can only get a 90 day entry if you have a visa that allows it.

Apologies, it's available from November.

Yes I read about that, but it didn't seem to be much of an advantage as I understand you still have to exit the country periodically throughout the six months.

It's a multi entry visa designed for frequent visitors and not for people wanting to live here.

  • You need to get a non-immigrant visa to get a 90 day stay.
  • If you enter with a tourist visa the maximum stay is 60 days.
  • If you enter under visa exempt then you only get 30/15 days which is probably what you entered with last time.
  • Tourist visas and visa exempt entries can be extended at immigration offices by 30 days (1,900 baht).
  • A tourist visa (60 days) plus a 30 day extension would give you a combined 90 day stay.
