Whitening Craze: Chlorine soap hits the Thai market

While I think their natural skin colour is much more beautiful than being messed with chemicals, from a chemistry point of view this is very misleading. Chlorine is a gas. Calcium Hypochlorite becomes Hypochlorous acid when introduced to water, and does not produce chlorine. This is no different than swimming in a pool that has 'pool shock' introduced, and is anti-microbial. The packaging for the soap should be illegal though, as it doesn't represent the content.

It's a bit like table salt being Sodium Chloride, but if you asked someone to eat Sodium metal and breath Chlorine, people would think you're insane. Subtle molecular differences of clusters of atoms can be very very different in their behaviour.

/sarcasm on:

Are you saying that the packaging on the CLORINR SAOP is misleading?

After snorting the product, the Papuan monitor lizard did assure me that I could call him Salvador. Then, everything turned white and I passed out.

/sarcasm off.

>>I cannot understand why Thai girls with a beautiful brown complexion can possibly think they are more attractive walking around looking like Coco the clown.<<

To say nothing of the too-obvious fake tits and bad nose jobs which seem all-too-prevalent.

"Wash your hand of unsuitable pal: I'm a Papuan monitor lizard Varanus Salvadori: But you can call me Salvador." Buy now, the packaging is priceless!

Actually it's not "unsuitable," it's "unsustainable"! laugh.png

I have contact with Thai FDA on a regular base, and every time, I need to hear and see how incompetent they are and have no clue about food safety and health, the are just uniformed public servants in a corrupt system.

Maybe get a Chameleon next, as they can change their own skin colour? :)

"Potentially damage your eyes" ???

thats the LEAST of the problems!!
it makes the chlorine soap sound 'not so threatening'.what girl is gonna care about a potential eye damage. (they will just keep it away from their eyes).

the real damage is to the skin and health.

chlorine poses a real cancer risk and organ damage among other things.
