PARIS: -- Fugitive US intelligence worker Edward Snowden has signed up to Twitter from exile in Russia.

His first tweet, “Can you hear me now?” was re-tweeted 25,000 times in an hour.

He got 171 thousand followers in less than an hour but is following only one account himself – his former employer, the US National Security Agency.

I don't use Twitter, but I can imagine some interesting tweets will surface in the near future.

Well, another twit on twitter.

Perhaps he can find a country that will take him?
