Prayut claims success in New York trip
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chanocha Wednesday wrapped up his New York trip and claimed it was a success, saying international community expressed their confidence and interest in cooperating with Thailand in areas of trade and investment.

The world leaders have confidence in Thailand and were looking forward to seeing how the government would drive the country forward, the PM said.

He added that he had clarified them that Thai government is following the road map announced after the coup.

According to democratic principles, there must be a constitution before election, he said. Since the previous constitutional draft was rejected, the new draft is needed, following by referendum and election, he added.

Prayut, who ended his trip for the 70th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York Wednesday, had opportunities to meet and consult with Ban Ki Moon, the United Nations Secretary General, as well as Barack Obama, the president of the United States, and took that chance to build understanding with the US government and the US business sectors of Thailand' situations.

And he dares to say that without shame?

The roadmap announced after the coup has had already more detours than the tour de France.

By world leaders is he referring to Figi and that other country that I've never heard of. And by meeting the president of the USA does he mean they were in the same room. Anybody have any photos of that so called meet.

"...as well as Barack Obama,..."

Only according to the THAI PRESS. All other news sources (non Thai) state that Gen P was at a reception where Obama was also present, but the 2 did not meet, or even greet one another. And the only people he actually talked to were a couple of heads of state of other "nothing" countries.

But this is about what I expected from the Thai news. He met everyone, and they were all so very impressed with him. - Pure Bull dung.

He met Ban Ki Moon. Did he meet Obama, or just see him from across the assembly room?

All he had to do to achieve a success in New York was not to make a fool of himself.

Frank Sinatra could have told him...

If I can make it there

I can make it anywhere

It's up to you

New York, New York.

Prayut Chan-O-Cha showing the international community how to behave like a statesman at the UN:

82762413.jpg

Hiding under his bed in his hotel room from 'criticism' because he cannot justify himself to people who are truly free.

Being ignored by all major and medium sized players.

Failing to achieve anything other than to ensure some of his own propaganda gets fed back to the Thai people making false claims about how the international community percieves both his integrity and legitimacy.

Whoever is backing this horse must surely know the abattoirs are sharpening their knives....

"Had opportunities" doesn't mean "did." If it's true Obama didn't even meet or greet him, that's definitely a snub, yikes.

Strange how I can't find one single article, paragraph, sentence, phrase or word on the whole of the internet to substantiate his claim that he met president Obama. Hmmm. Should we take him for his word?

There will be no coup!

I do not want to be PM!

Don't blink, but here is Prayut's "meeting" with the UN Secretary-General.

There is no photo nor record of a meeting between Prayut and POTUS - except that they were in the same room a couple of times.

And here is photographic record of Prayut's "meeting" with Obama - Obama is in the front row, whilst Prayut is in the very back row, far left.

And Prayut is not greeting Obama with a friendly wave - he was waving to the UN photographer.

I don't think Obama knew that Prayut was there.

Next year, when the One Internet Gateway is imposed, we might not be able to search for such sensitive/embarrassing evidence of a white lie.

he is always at his best when he speaks of democratic principles, ... a topic he understands thoroughly and a principle which he is able to undermine efficiently....

A little tired of all these ex-pats remarks and always bashing Thai or Thailand when many live here :-(

Maybe many of you should go back to your own country, if you have one? :-)

You could always head to Waikiki yourself, close the door behind you.

So nice of the UN to organise a grand hooley just for him and people like Obama and Putin must be so proud and gratified they rated an invite and were permitted to be in ' the presence '.

The ' why don't you go home ' attempt at a barb was redundant the first time it was used a long time ago and hasn't improved any since then.
