Strange as links work perfectly for me - email them direct : [email protected]

Thanks, but that e-mail must be a personal one.

Anyone searching the internet will come across the same links that I did.

If the links to submit the 'contact us forms' are broken, they could potentially be losing a lot of business.

Not exactly encouraging if you had a policy but then couldn't contact them online for some reason.

That's the one trans.

Peter Smith the MD of AA Insurance is the guest speaker this Sunday at the Pattaya Expats Club Mercure Hotel behind the Avenue Shopping Mall .

They are aware of the problem and it is being dealt with

Well the problem has existed for at least 2 months already to my knowledge.

Still waiting for a reply to my e-mail, but then [email protected] could be the MD and I guess he's a busy man.

I'll forward my mail to Nam in a couple of days if I don't get a reply.

I had a renewal reminder from Nam quoting nearly 800 baht more than last year, when I queried this she replied a 'revised' quote was on its way and will indeed be less. I also asked for confirmation of amounts covered.

I've just had another email asking me to send them the original higher premium with no response to my query of cover amounts.

Anyone else experienced this from AA?

Just looked at the BK Insurance web site and it doesn't look like they insure bikes (I should have mentioned it's for my PCX and the increase quoted is about 17% more than last year). I'll check them out tho for my truck later.

Just have a quote from her (AA) well under any other company tongue.png

What other Companies and covering what type of liability.?. A.A. were comparative with us first Year or so..

Good Morning Raymond

Apologies for the wrong renewal premium but as you know it was the insurance company that sent us the premium who were incorrect - below is the response you had had :

Please note that this is really not AA Insurance fault. It is because of the mistake in our system for Honda PCX as there are 2 engine size for this model, one is 149 cc and another is 152 cc which make the premium rate different. Motorcycle with engine size more than 150 cc the rate and deductible will be higher applied as a big bike. We have just found out the error in this matter and have taken action immediately, However, we have adjust the premium rate on the renewal notice and will send it to AA ASAP.

Insurance Brokers depend on the insurance companies being accurate but if there is a mistake it is cleared up as soon as possible. Again sorry for the misunderstanding.

Peter - AA Insurance Brokers.

I don't rate them as a broker AT ALL

They're just a document emailing service from what I can tell.

In my day (I'm UNDER 50), a broker would get your details and come back to you with a few options tailored to your circumstances

All AA Insurance do is attach brochures and premium sheets and bung them into an email so you can take a day going through the jargon and hopefully, if you're lucky, make a choice based on your knowledge as a layman.

I asked them for a quote, they sent me details for ONE insurer - presumably the one who pays them the highest backhander.

I wrote them asking to send me details of more insurers and they replied with a bunch of .pdf files

Frankly, If you're expecting to be paid a commission for your service, then you should at least PROVIDE a service rather than expect to be paid because you could be ar5ed to send an email.

Not impressed at all

So they sent you details of what you wanted - do not know what pdf, word or any other file format has to do with it - and you are still complaining ! rolleyes.gif

You're not that bright are you?

The format of the files wasn't the point.

The POINT - seemingly lost on your superior intellect - is that, as a broker, the idea is to get the customer's details and suggest actual solutions, not just send a load of premium tables and brochures leaving him/her to do the legwork.

I was a mortgage broker many moons ago and when my clients asked for solutions, my job wasn't to just send out brochures and rate sheets - my job was to provide a number of solutions, fully laid out with the pros and cons of each

The theory is great but I won't hold my breath that you will actually find that depth of service from just email contact here in Thailand.

I would go further and say that it was probably unlikely even for most UK brokers especially if done online or by email. I have had recent experiences of that for both medical and landlord insurance in the UK.

Your customers sound like they were fortunate.........

If you do happen to find a broker like that here please post their details as I am sure many would be interested.

Service at that level is common in the UK.

A simple, computerised system will generate any number quotes from various providers based on your circumstances.

What irked me was the initial response - details for one company - the one which likely gives them the biggest kickback.

Forget what's best for the customer in terms of cost, terms etc . . . just get the biggest commission

I don't see why they should get a fat kickback just for sending a poxy email. Do you?

Anyway, I'll do the legwork myself and then submit my application direct to the provider.
