what cement for leaking watertank

An old square concrete watertank is leaking at the foundations and I wondered what would be a good cement to make a repair.

A couple of years ago i was in a building material store and i saw that they made a showcase of a fountain in a cardboard box coated on the inside with some special waterproof cement that made the box completely waterproof.

Can't remember the name and location of the shop but would like to know what that cement could have been.

Here in the US, I would use a hydraulic mix, brand name is Sakrete. It sets very quickly so mix small batches. Advertised that it will plug up holes with flowing water.

I know the stuff you mean and it's certainly available here (we used it to fix our concrete pond) unfortunately I can't remember the name either. I'll get Wifey on the task.

Best applied from the inside.

Crocodile brand has a product out called Plug. I believe it is for swimming pool applications. It is new and I haven't tried it. What I have used in the past is the cement for applying tiles to swimming pools. It is very waterproof and easy to work with. But it comes in 20 kg bags

Also comes in premixed tubs... about 2 litres if I remember.... Home Mart carries it! (at least on Samui!) works well ....thumbsup.gif

Yes also seen this but feel sure it was at a Fish Pond suppliers.

I had a bad leak on my flat roof, went along to the local hardware store... she sold me something white and rubbery in a 1 Lt can to paint on with a brush, 4 years on never a leak again...

it was expensive something like 1,800 baht per lt can, needed 2 cans......... still believe was cheaper than taking up the tiles, cutting the plaster, re-felting and then re tiling. sure saved me doing the re-felting and then re tiling.

I've noted the Draga VIT waterplug sold at the Buriram Thaiwatsadu store. I took a photo of the Lanko Building products demonstration booth held at a Buriram Builders merchants house building materials Expo earlier this year located near the newly opened Buriram Toyota Dealership of the Nang Rong Toyota group. The Davco and Lanko products included demonstrations of the water rapid plug sold as Lanko 224 Rapid Plug. It is made in Thailand with instructions in Thai and English on the various size containers. I took note of the higher price of this product at the new Buriram Global House Store.
