NCPO to launch citizen information campaign
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has initiated a campaign to send agents around the country to explain the charter drafting process to the masses.

Lt-General Teerachai Nakvanich, secretary general of the NCPO, has instructed all security units under the NCPO to coordinate with local organisations to explain the charter drafting process and the government's road map in a 20-month timeframe, said Sirichan Ngathong, spokesperson for the NCPO.

The NCPO agents will also inform the citizens about the drought situation and survey their needs so that the government can come up with more effective measures to relieve their suffering.

The officers will initially work with local organisations as well as the villagers via public meetings to gauge their needs before proposing projects to the government, which were expected to be implemented in November onwards.

The target areas would cover 22 provinces in the Central region, and 55 more places located outside irrigation areas.

The operations are part of Teerachai's directive to step up efforts to implement the policies of the government and the NCPO.

Oh Jeebus, the "Agents" are on their way to "explain"...

Will their remit be anything like the army unit ' re-educating ' in North Eastern villages ?

You will understand the charter and you will accept it !

It's like someone taking over your home and now explaining away the rape on your liberty as not only necessary but the need to approve of it.

Thailand is fast becoming scary with each new proposal and act of the military governing it.

I can explain it for them very easily.

"We are writing the charter so you poor people can't keep electing Thaksin and his nominees"
