Approved Translation Service

Featured Replies

I am beginning the I-130 (US Green Card) and citizenship process for my wife. All Thai documents, such as our marriage documentation, must be translated. The instructions state:

Translations. Any foreign language document must be accompanied by a full English translation that the translator has certified as complete and correct, and by the translator's certification that he or she is competent to translate the foreign language into English.

A list of 11 "approved" translation services is available online from the US Consulate in Chiang Mai. My question it this:

Has anyone recently used one of these "approved" services to satisfy a similar requirement, receiving both correctly translated documents AND a proper certification in the process? If you have, please share the name of the service and, if you recall and it was for an identical translation, the amount you paid.

Thanks.

I can recommend "Thailand Translation Services" < www.thailandtranslationservices.com > if you're in Chiang Mai or Lampang. It's about THB 300 for each document. I get a lot of stuff translated for work, but I've been through the visa application process too and have never had anything but good experiences with this company. Otherwise, Master Piece Translation < http://www.masterpiecetranslation.com/translation-service.html > in Bangkok is great. I can't remember what I paid, but it was pretty reasonable. They do translations for US, UK, Australia immigration all the time. The US Consulate list online is pretty old... they really ought to update it.
