BANGKOK: -- More than 3,000 students of Assumption University, known as Abac, appear likely to graduate despite the serious dispute in its administration.

The meeting on Tuesday of Education Minister Dapong Ratanasuwan and the Abac Council resolved to allow Brother Bancha Saenghiran to sign the diplomas for the class of 2015, to be conferred at the commencement ceremony on November 22.

As for the internal conflict, Dapong said both sides have agreed to the idea of setting up a central committee to handle it.

He assigned the ministry's permanent secretary to discuss with the Higher Educational Commission to find appropriate neutral persons, besides their own representatives, for this committee.

"There is no conclusion yet regarding who will be Abac president - Bancha or Dr Sudhiporn Patumtaewapibal. The ministry is trying to be a mediator to solve this dispute," Dapong said.

So the resolution is that Brother Bancha Saenghiran wil sign the diplomas for the class of 2015 .....

But he will have no title such as President?

Why not have Education Minister Dapong Ratanasuwan sign the diplomas and be done with this mess?

There have been serious management problems at abac for well over ten years and what is stupid is they teach management, several courses. What is happening there does not surprise me at all. I know as I used to teach there.
