Now I bought Emmenthaler cause it looks young, but it's disgusting really.

I always shop at FoodMart and tried several cheese already (sandwich cheese) and it's always old cheese or untasteful.

Central Chidlom actually has a cheese shop in its Tops Supermarket. It's near the bakery. You can get samples to taste and they will cut the cheese that you choose to order. Enjoy!

What is "sandwich" cheese ?

Sounds like some pre-sliced, processed plastic.!

Try buying Real cheese........ there are many options!

Yes this pre-sliced stuff, I love it, but I only see old cheese in Foodmart.

Friendship has a good (for Thailand) selection of real cheeses, spread over three different locations in the store, so you need to hunt around.

dennis...you are referring to processed cheese which is distinct from natural cheese and is usually displayed in a different area in the dairy section of your local supermarket...it usually comes in individually wrapped sandwich sized slices about 12 slices to the packet...

and...as I have no pride I admit that I usually have some on the go in the fridge to nosh on when too lazy to cook or etc...

it's just pure processed dairy fat with a bit of 'cheddar flavoring' and probably not too good fer ye in large amounts, but inna pinch...locally fabricated, cheap and widely available...etc...
