Like pods of whales who mysteriously beach them self to death, so many foreigners who comes to Thailand with a tingle in the eyes and promises of good times, sadly, some of them found that Thailand is not nirvana, lose their ways owing to a whole host of problems and taking this awful but easy way out....

That was me. When I first came to Thailand I had a hop to my step, and a twinkle in my eye. When I left my girl left me heartbroken and sour. Sad.

It's sad to take your life if you have no family or dependents. If you do then it's a selfish/cowardly act. Not sure which applies.

I don't have sympathy for those who take this path when the going gets tough as something can be done. I have sympathy for those who get hurt at no fault of their own.

Ps. I wouldn't wanna learn French from a Chinese teacher! Haven't met an Indian who can speak perfect English yet. Not that they don't exist.

Depression is not a choice. It's a deadly disease of the brain. We don't chiose brain chemistry nor its quirks and disorders.
i see where you're coming from. But your argument is weak in this case. Did he get depressed as a result of those circumstance or did he always suffer depression. Most prisoners are on anti-depressants. Most people get depressed at some point in their lives.
Clinical depression is a disease it dosn't happen just because somone is going through bad times. There is an actual physical disorder in the brain chemistry that creates a constant feeling of hopelessness. Yes some people comitte suicide for a reason but many suicides are also caused by this physical disorder. The brain is naturally wired to avoid death it's actually really hard to decide to kill yourself. It's possible that his financial problemes were a result of his depression then it finally beat him. It's just not warranted to call somone who kills themsleves a coward. They actually may not have been able to stop it. It's possible it was just a decision, but we would never know that unless we could measure seratonin levels and get a receptor count.
ok Dr Phill. Maybe I missed the part of the story that clearly stated he was suffering from clinical depression. If not then it's a simple case of a quitter. Ps I'm a scientist so be careful when using big words and make sure u have evidence to back it up otherwise you'd be accused of talking through your know what! Lol winners don't quit and quitters don't win. Right? Edited by sir charles IV

I think this could very well be murder , if he was a scammer as claimed by earlier poster , he probably had a lot of enemies. But we will never find out.

Never heard that term before, whales beaching themselves to death ! You learn something every day.

Sad to hear of yet another suicide in the Land of Suicides (actually it is ranked about 57th on the list of countries with the most cases per capita)

I am surprised the crack sleuths from Sukhumvit Yard have not yet popped in with their claims of murder.

RIP to the poor guy who died.

Ranked 57th or so you write, IMHO, Thailand doesn't deserve this, 100th+ maybe, when all the murders disguised as suicides would be taken out of the stats, but then, the RTP... (Remember the guy who not long ago 'committed suicide', by shooting himself in the head, 3 times...?)

Interesting that that some of the thai media are reporting that his passport and nationality might not be real......seems to confirm the story posted by an earlier member.

So this poor chap was on a lengthy overstay if his passport was a fake. Maybe the reason he took his life? R.I.P

What a shame.

Should I die here in Thailand, I sincerely hope the details aren't posted up on this site with the usual crass comments following. The dead deserve some dignity.

Got to disagree with almost anything you say I guess.

People who commit suicide have and deserve no dignity, no matter what the reason may be, they are just losers, that's all.

This was a near tragic blow to me. I was actually considering leaving this country that I love so much. I was reeling from the sudden problems and debt he had caused me for months, as were hundreds of other unsuspecting expats.

This low-life, corrupt, crooked scumbag. I'm just happy to hear he is no longer able to prey on other foreigners anymore. Some people get so bad that they have no where else to turn. He was the worst. .

Sorry to anyone offended. This is the truth.

Glad he killed himself then, no more victims.

Thank you ,some compassion at last, the best response .

Condolences to this man's family and friends, waht a tragic end R.I.P.

The poor man's occupation is just click bait.

It cannot be helpful to speculate on business concerns without knowlege and it may further harm the school and distress his family.
