macknife
As the title suggests this is just a question asking why don't Kawasaki make any small engined scooters. I know they haven't been established in Thailand as long as Honda and Yamaha, but I don't think they make them for any country. As we all know Honda and Yamaha sell millions of these things even Suzuki have their fair share. After all Kawasaki are a major motorcycle manufacturer, so why not get in on this profitable market? Some of their bigger bike designs IMO look very cool and aggressive, so I'd love to see what they would come up with as an alternative to Clicks or Mios. Wouldn't it be great if Ducati started making a few as well. They would likely cost more but would probably be well worth it. So does anyone have any idea why Kawasaki have never ventured down this road?

konying
I am guessing they have done their cost effective analysis and may be setting up new plants and/or machinery as well as marketing. advertising, distribution chain costs are too high and will take too long to pay off, so sticking to existing is more profitable in the long run

English_M_in_Bkk
I think lack of investment in actual dealerships was their downfall when it came to scooters, same with Suzuki, you hardly see any of their dealerships anymore, except a few up country. And what does it have to do with: Why no Kawasaki scooters? It's very boring and childish if someone uses almost every thread to hit out Honda. Henryford
The problem in Thailand is that most people buy Honda because it's got Honda on the nameplate. No matter how good Kawasaki scooters were they would have to overcome that bias.

papa al
papa say: #4 trying to compete against #'s 1, 2, 3, 5, ... in the low-margin, price-sensitive, small scooter market just doesn't work. @ 250cc and up, Kawasakis are a bit more expensive and are a bit better quality and performance than king Honda. papa love them all...papa a ...mocy butterfly. Richard-BKK
I think the J300 is a Kymco in sheep's clothing. The Kawasaki J300 scooter is indeed a Kymco SuperDink 300i (bit different styling, but both come out of the same factory).
