Questions about 'entry before' date on visa (ON the date OK or must be day before?)

1) If my visa says "enter before..." can I enter ON the date shown or does it have to be the day before (I have had different answers to this question).

2) From looking at my old passport stamps it seems that a 60 day visa means 60 days with entry and exit date both counted as one day. Put another way, if there was such thing as a 1 day visa which was issued on say 1 Jan, then the visa would expire at midnight 1 Jan and not 2 Jan as you might expect.

1) Yes, you can enter ON the "enter before" date.

2) Yup, all Thai entry stamps include the day of entry as day 1 even if you roll up to immigration a 1 minute to midnight.

1. You must enter on or before the enter before date. It means enter before the end of that date.

2. The date you enter is the first day of the 60 days. The admitted until date is the day you must leave the country because that is the day your 60 day end.

whistling.gif In fact it is that day.

The way it is calculated is based on the fact that 24:00 hours (midnight) is the end of that day.

So if you have a date that says "enter before 25 October 2015" they calculate that midnight 25 October 2015 is the end of that day.....so if you enter anytime during the day of 25 October it is the last day you can enter legally.
