Retirement visa due Jan 11th.

Featured Replies

Good morning,

I'm sorry if this has been done to death but I can't find any info relating to my question.

But I'm hoping you guys can put me on the right path.

My retirement visa ends on January the 11th 2016,

my next, and last on this visa, 90 day report is due on the 22nd of December.

My question is, if I go as normal on the 22nd Dec will I be OK and get a 90 day or will I need to have a new retirement visa before I go?

Thanks in advance,

Loz.

You can do both on Dec 22.

I assume you have an extension of stay based upon retirement you got at immigration not a visa from an embassy or consulate.

You can do your 90 day report without doing the extension first.

You could do the report and extension during the same trip to immigration if you wanted to. You can apply for the extension up to 30 days early.

If you are referring to a non-OA visa which due to expire on 11th January 2016, then all you need to do is a border run before that date, and you will then be admitted for a further year upon your return.

Alternatively, if you have a multi-entry non-O visa which is due to expire on that date, then again all that is needed on your part is a border run before 11th January 2016, and you will then be admitted for a further 90 days upon your return, for the final time under that particular visa. Thereafter you will have no choice other than to travel to Vientiane or Penang for a fresh non-O visa - assuming, of course, that it is literally another "retirement visa" that you're after (rather than an extension of stay as suggested by ubonjoe).

A contradictory statement if I may say so! I strongly suggest that you re-read the opening sentence of ubonjoe's post!!

It is not.

It is probably an Extension of Stay obtained from Immigration.smile.png
