I am travelling to Tokyo next week and am going to get a tourist visa while I am there. Has anyone else been there to get one? Can I get a single or a double entry? What do I need to take with me?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Non-Japanese applicant cannot apply for any category of visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Tokyo, unless the applicant acquires permanent resident / mid-to long-term / specific visa to legally reside in Japan.
