Hua Hin beach returns normal

HUA HIN:-- No oil slicks were washed onto Hua Hin beach in Prachuap Khiri Khan and situation along the 10-kilomtere beach stained by the oil slicks a few days ago has returned to normal.

The slicks scattered on the beach from Suan Luang Rachinee Park to Khao Takiab hill was removed and cleared and the sea returned to normal.

Sea water was clear again and tourists were seen swimming in the sea, although swimming warning still remains in place until Sunday.

No more oil slicks were washed ashore since yesterday and no major trace of oil or garbage was seen along the sandy beach.

Health and environment officials from Hua Hin Municipality Office yesterday conducted health assessment business operators along the Hua Hin coastline, who had joined the beach cleanup on Tuesday when the problem had first occurred.

Many of whom were found to have suffered from nausea, burning nose and skin irritation. The authorities gave them body lotion and cream to relieve the problem.

Director of the Marine Office in Samut Songkhram province yesterday led officials to inspect oil slick off Mae Klong estuary and they found no trace of oil slick.

They believed all the oil had been washed out into the sea.

The estuary was believed to be a place where oil slicks that caused pollution on the Hua Hin coastline on Tuesday and Wednesday, had been originated from.

The marine officials are checking records to find out if any boat had travelled between Mae Klong estuary in Samut Songkhram province and Mahachai Bay in Samut Sakhon province before Tuesday.

Returned to normal? An absolute lie.

The heavy oil has sunk into the sand and will be there for a very long time to come. Go walk the beach and the bottom of your feet will soon be very black.

They have put "lipstick on a pig" and cannot wait for you to think likewise and for this story to go away.

So why are people coming off the beach today with their feet covered on oil. The oil has sank into the sand and will be a problem for weeks/months to come. The reporting of this by 'englishnews' is disgraceful.

Says it all then doesn't it. I hope tourists arriving here and being assured that it's all normal kick up a huge stink when they realise the complete lies being reported.

NO way it's back to normal now or anytime soon. Cancelled our Hua Hin holiday plans for January. Maybe give it a go later next year or the following. cool.png

Don't you just love a good news story for a change?

In related news... no fatal road accidents were reported in Hua Hin over the last hour.

I was at Khao Takiab when the PBS news car came by. 3 people got out, stood at the beach enterence for 2 minutes, looked around and left. No photos, no investigation. As others have said the sand is covered by sunk in oil and you can not walk without getting black feet or shoes. Photos from yesterday.post-183941-0-78502400-1446441498_thumb.post-183941-0-93263800-1446441542_thumb.post-183941-0-66394900-1446441574_thumb.

I challenge the author of this pack pack of lies to meet me on the beach in Hua Hin.

Lets go for a nice walk and then we can photograph the bottoms of your feet.

Anytime this week is good for me.

Today November the 3Rd, 30 minutes walk on the beach at Soi 75. Check pictures : No ! situation is not back to normal. A little tip : You can use any food grade oil (even cheap one for cooking) and some tissues : drop large amount of oil on your feet and wipe it off with tissues. Always remove engine oils spill from your skin it is potentially carcinogen : http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2612787

If there was only this oil spill occasional thing but it's in my opinion a minor issue for beach users compare to the rest... TOP 4 :

N°1) Pollution of the water garbage, plastics bags , dead fish, detritus of all kinds... unclear water

N°2) Jellyfish/nettles/sealices or whatever makes those little stings when swimming (nearly all year)

N°3) Horse manure which contaminates natural sand banks pools and shallow water, bring sand flies as well - Horse ride activity in genral

N°4) Sandflies
