Visas problem while crossing border Cambodia to Thailand

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I'm going to visit Anghor Wat and then return to Thailand through border crossing in Poipet but I'm afraid it can't be passible. There were some rumors, non official information on the polish embassy website that since 12th September 2015 thai authorities is going to stop issue visas for overland crossing border from Cambodia. How does actually look the situation on the Poipet crossing border? Should I worry about this? Are there any official information in this case?

What visa do you have and how do you plan to return to Thailand ?

The border is open and Cambodian visas are available ................

Thank you for reply. I just only need regular tourist visa for 15 days. That will be enough for the rest Thailand trip. Do I have to show return flight ticket? Are there any other conditions to get visas on Poipet?

If Polish you might get a 15 day visa on arrival(1000 Bht) but you will not get a "regular tourist visa".

Moved to THAI VISAS forum.

You will get a 15 day visa exempt entry when you return. You will be allowed to enter the country without a problem.

The closure last month was only for those doing an out/in crossing for a new entry. That closure has already ended.

I have now left Thailand after 20 years and am trying to set up affairs in Cambodia. I would like to use visa-exempt entry back into Thailand to collect remaining possessions and meet up with friends. I'd like to know if all the crossing points into Thailand from Cambodia allow visa-exempt entry. I had heard at one point that Koh Kong-Hat Lek and perhaps others would not honor this visa-exempt system. Does anyone know for sure?

I received a 30 day exemption stamp at the Koh Kong-Hat Lek border on the 27th October with a British passport without any drama whatsoeversmile.png
